  Other Recent Notices

The Corps of Engineers said in August that it will maintain lake level restrictions at Hartwell Lake until a long term engineering solution is designed and built. The Corps restrictions page describes a year round target of 656 feet above mean sea level with a maximum of 662 feet, says the basin is in Level 2 drought with the lake roughly 8 feet below its normal guide curve, and says designated swim areas stay closed or dry while many ramps remain usable with reduced access. Franklin County posted that the courthouse returned to normal operations on September 8 after roof repairs. Franklin County Schools lists the September 8 regular board meeting as cancelled. Past county agendas and minutes are in the agenda center, where the newest posted document is a September 2 Board of Assessors agenda.

Where we could not look this morning. The City of Lavonia home page and live feed showed nothing newer than August, and the city agenda pages listed only 2024 and 2025 material, so no September city council or DDA date could be confirmed. The county agenda center had no agenda posted yet for Thursday's Planning Commission meeting and showed no county events for October. The Franklin County Chamber calendar loaded without any events. The Lavonia-Carnegie Library page did not list individual programs. Emmanuel University's women's soccer and volleyball schedule pages returned a view that had not been updated past early September, so those records and results are reported as of that view and the next matches could not be confirmed; the Emmanuel news archive was not fetched, to stay inside the daily limit on that site. The Department of War releases page loaded with no releases in it.
