Fall Festival Fills Downtown Lavonia on Saturday

Sweet Tea and Falling Leaves runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the forecast calls for rain.

The Lavonia Fall Festival, which the Downtown Development Authority calls the Sweet Tea and Falling Leaves Festival, is set for Saturday, September 26, in downtown Lavonia. WLHR lists the hours as 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The DDA does not post start and end times on its own festival page.

The DDA describes the day as hundreds of vendors with handmade crafts, food, live entertainment and family activities, and says vendor applications are closed for this year. It does not publish a street closure map, a parking plan or a stage schedule, so those details are not available from the sources checked.

The National Weather Service forecast for Saturday is a chance of showers in the morning, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11 a.m., with a high near 88 and an 80 percent chance of rain. The DDA has posted no rain date or weather policy.
